While enjoying light conversation with family and friends at the local Chao Bella, I couldn’t have been happier with my decision of drink for the night – Stash’s Wild Raspberry Hibiscus – it was to die for! Its aroma was alluring, a sweetness typically masked by the tart of the fruit, a scent I let linger as I held the tea cup between both my hands. It was a brisk evening and the crisp air was melted by the heat lamp two tables over. We talked of my career status – continuously applying for jobs without luck – the past week’s events in my grandparents lives – the entire week was a stretch of their memories, often corrected a detail of the other’s story – and of a wedding of a niece that created the family drama every bride hates – the mother overload. Before our meal had arrived, I had finished my cup and was longing for more and waited for the waitress to return to ask for a second. By the time she arrived with my steaming cup of water I couldn’t have moved faster to second steep my bag of tea successfully and enjoyed yet another great batch of Wild Raspberry Hibiscus tea. Even the second round tasted of a sugar dipped petal with the right touch of tang, leaving the tongue softly caressed. Until I get a teapot to make a full batch in one setting I will make twice the tea with one bag – just to drink up all it has to offer. It is the perfect start and finish of each day, being without is not an option.
