Well, it is official I am working at a studio again and life is all butterflies and rainbows and the stress of choreography on top of teaching and inspiring kids to grow into something amazing. Between looking for a part time job on top of the studio (can’t support myself on this job alone) I have been planning out my first class and it is a joyous feeling I can not contain! I applied for three jobs today off of AppleOne’s listings and three through Craigslist. Not sure if it is the pandora playlist that has got me flowing but I feel that all things are going right right now. Just spent the last 45 minutes searching and applying for different types of jobs in hopes that one may pan out. Now I am in the mood to dance and grove while spilling my world to the world.
side note status: The hardest thing for me is the inability to practice any moves full out if it requires a saute -jump- and is proving to be the worst when it comes to me trying to refresh my tap skills with my pull backs and double backs due to the fact that I am on the second story and just crossing the room shakes the apartments imagine the earthquake below should I full on dance my heart out.
Back to prepping for classes, this current session will be ending June 20th with the recital and that give us ten weeks left to learn, creating a weekly focus for all classes to help them find a more solid foundation in their talents and to give them the ultimate keys to building their best dancer body. All we want is to watch them succeed!
My lesson plan for my ballet class has a focus, mission, level break down, along with how I plan to run that specific class – starting off with announcements on how I will be running my class continuing on with actual class and exercises. I just did a trial run of everything leading up to barre and I say my timing was dead on. It’s not the first class I need to worry about, my tap/jazz combo is going to kick my butt if I am not 210% prepared!
The first week will be The Phantom of the Opera music based and I am so excited! I have my barre songs picked out and in order on my playlist, next up centre and across the floor. Well my brain needs a short break from all this fun, to nap -I most definitely want to- but instead I will do my pelvic exercises and fold towels and pick up the house a tad before working out more, writing, or finishing the first ballet class; my ultimate goal is to prep for one class each day so that it gets my full attention while creating it so that I can teach the most out of the hour given.
