Now that Anthony and I have a Brita to enjoy filtered fresh tasting water, I have filled a separate pitcher will half a lemon sliced, a full lime sliced, half a cucumber sliced and two full sprigs of mint leaves. It is crisp and refreshing, leaving my mouth feeling light and happy. I let the water absorb the flavors over night and refill it one more time; reusing everything but the mint leaves, I replace them with fresh sprigs. After I have finished the second pitcher I chuck all contents, wash the pitcher and fill with the remaining half of the fruits, another full lime and fresh mint sprigs. Once I have money I plan to buy berries -strawberries, raspberries, blackberries- maybe even peaches or nectarines to add a sweet pop of flavor, a delight for this spring time weather here in southern California. My guess would be a week or so; even then I have bills and taxes to pay. We have been drinking more water, not the recommend amount yet, but heading in that direction. I really need to work on cutting out sodas and energy drinks; every time I drink one I tell myself this is the late one, then Anthony surprises me with one and I am craving it so bad so of course I take it, and I will buy myself one when I want it bad enough. Gah, it’s the worst giving in to things that I know are no good for me. I am working on keeping up my energy and positive levels so less vent more accepting, but still venting because I am human.
