It has been a wondrous week here in Oceanside -roommate free, the life for me! Sad news on the Pepper front; she ran away. Since then we have adopted Cali the Calico and Goober he’s a big boy. They are finally getting along so well after only three days, we couldn’t be more thrilled with their progress and Goober has grown to like us as well -he is, well was, a feral cat. Anthony capture this magical moment this morning between the two on the window sill.
It is Friday and I have started a trial bullet journal for the remaining week of August. So excited for how it has turned out thus far. For today I have 9 pages already set up. It is a smaller notebook and take more pages to cover the stuff I need to keep collective. I am thinking this would be a fun way to write a story; to develop characters, plots, scenes and even tell a story through this medium.
I have set some goals, starting checking tasks off and its only one in the morning. I ordered two journals on amazon with blank pages to make my bullet journal; I even prepped for how I want to start my journal. Goals for the remainder of the year, goals for September, memories to be made in September, the first week plan, and then September 1st and all the wonders it will hold.
I digress as I drift on about the future but what i truly need to focus on is being mindful and being in the present, my awareness is an aspect that I need to strengthen. So back to trial bullet, under my creativity section I have:
- Blog Post
I kept it simple because I want to accomplish the goals I laid forth -I can get discouraged easily- and I am doing what I can to avoid feelings of negativity. While failure is acceptable and even encouraged because it teaches us to grow, I want to remove negative vibes, talks, and people from my life. Now I can cross a blog post off my list and feel sweet dreams, but being wide awake I am going to check off another task that falls under my healthy category – yoga! Thus my title Midnight Yoga, yes technically by the time I start my yoga it may end up being one thirty (I am allowing fifteen minutes for researching which yoga poses I want to work on to find peaceful calmness).
My Midnight Yoga Selection
I found a bedtime yoga video on YouTube and will follow it for the 20 minute duration and report back to you my verdict of the session and enter an update tomorrow morning with my sleep success or lack there of. Try the video out for yourself –Yoga with Adriene.
*Starting Yoga Now*
Not a bad way to unwind. It is funny that I stretch before bed when my muscles need it and these are what I would call ballet stretches that I use to feel better. Never paid attention if it helped me sleep better tonight, I shall find out. I did it once with her in the video but I plan to do it again while watching an unforgettable episode of How I Met Your Mother… Swarley! 20 minutes is not enough to really stretch through my muscles so yoga round two it is. I feel rather rested but it is sleep that I am most curious about fixing.
Goober, Anthony’s newest kitten, is terrified of most things but has just crawled over to me and my laptop to investigate the light tapping sounds coming from my keyboard. His eyes are fixated on my fingers as the dance around the keys. His trance got the the better of him as he lunged his nose towards my right hand to smell my scent and leave -I must be stinky. And cue his bird like moaning gargle to wake everyone in the neighborhood. Our first compliant will not go well.
Well hot damn! I only did the initial round of yoga last time/this morning. After getting up to get the bed ready I started yawning and could feel exhaustion within my body so I decided to call it a night and crawled into bed. No lie, I slept the best I had all week since Goober’s arrival. His annoying vocals did not wake me, and I insisted he had slept just as well as I had -Anthony says otherwise. If falling asleep has become difficult try the video and see how it works for you!
